Packing lists and equipment

Clothes
Depending on the area you are traveling to and the time of year, you should bring the certain types of cloth. When you register our trip, we will advise you about the cloth suiting for your trip specialty. Generally you should pack:

  • boots suitable for walking or riding
  • light shoes for changes
  • warm jacket and pullover
  • trousers suitable for riding or hiking-in the case of riding they should be heavy weight riding pants suitable for long days riding
  • long sleeved shirts
  • shorts
  • t/shirts
  • gloves
  • thick socks
  • waterproof clothing-trousers and top
  • woolen hat or beanie
  • warm clothes for sleeping in at night
  • clothes suitable for the city

Equipment

  • alarm clock
  • binoculars
  • camera and spare film and batteries
  • snack food
  • torch and batteries-for camping head torches are very useful
  • water bottles
  • matches
  • pen knife
  • plastic bags
  • photocopy of passport and other important documents
  • 4 season sleeping bag
  • sleeping bag liner
  • sleeping pad
  • sun glasses
  • spare glasses and contact lenses
  • fishing rod
  • washing line
  • small pillow or pillow case
  • tent

Toiletries and medical pack
If you have any particular medical problem please consult with your doctor before you come to Mongolia as to the medication that you should bring on your trip. This also applies to your own personal first aid kit. A suggested list would include:

  • After-bite cream for mosquito bites
  • broad spectrum antibiotic Keflex
  • loo paper and tissues
  • lip balm
  • moquito repellent ie Deet and mosquito coils
  • soap
  • towel
  • travel wash water disinfectant such as Potable Aqua or iodine
  • wet-ones for cleaning hand

The following is alist of common problems clients may experience on trek for which it a good idea to be prepared for:

  • Altitude sickness
  • Gastrointestinal Problems
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Stomach upsets
  • Headache or other mild aches and pains
  • Respiratory Infections
  • Sunburn and skin irritations
  • Open Wounds
