KAZAKS - WEST MONGOLIA (22 days)

	ITINERARY
1 day	Arrival to Ulaanbaatar, transfer in the hotel. Visit the Gandan Monastery, the biggest Monastery in Mongolia, built over 300 years ago,  ascent to the Zaisan hill, from where you can enjoy a beautiful panorama of the city and the surrounding hills, there you will find a huge statue of Buddha. Visit the Bogd Khan Museum: Winter Palace of the last emperor-lama.
2 day	Flight to Ulaangom, the capital city of Uvs province. Meeting with drivers. Departure to the lake Uvs, the biggest salt lake in Mongolia, and the enormous sea in the middle of desert. Transfer near the magnificent valley of Kharkhiraa.
3 day	Visit  of archeological sites of Turkish period - deers carved on the stone, and other monuments of the period. Departure and observe the petroglyphs of first humans. The excursion in the valley where Khoton people live, famous by shamanic people.
4 day	Departure to Ulgy -  the province where Kazakh people live. The road takes you to valley of mountains of Turgene and Kharkhiraa. Passing through the lake Achit. Arrival to Ulgii.
5 day	Shopping at the local market of Ulgy, prepare to go to Tavan Bogd National Park, the zone which borders with Russia and China. Departure to the direction of Tsengel village.
6 day	Tavan Bogd National park composes of 3 beautiful lakes, we will pass near one of those lakes - lake  Dayan. Passing near a small lake Khar, arrive to a village with the same of the lake. The road is tough enough.
7 day	From the lake Dayan starts the road to Ulgy. Passing through Buyant arrive to Sagsai. Meeting with a Kazakh family. You will see how Kazakh people live and their life style and costumes. Presentation of hunting with eagles.
8 day	Visit the local mosque. Trip around the city and local market. Departure to the snow capped mountain Tsambagarav.
9 day	Excursion in Tsambagarav mountain, one of highest mountains in Mongolia.
10 day	Departure to the capital city of the province Khovd.
11 day	Passing through the lake Khar Us, departure to the next snow capped mountain, sacred Sutai Khairkhan.
12 day	Trip continues to the biggest desert of Asia.
13 day	From Biger, starts another stage to Bayangobi. Have a rest after long trip in the Western part of Mongolia.
14 day	Departure and arrival to Khongoryn Els National park, with the highest and spectacular sand dunes in Mongolia.
15 day	Arriving to the National Park of Khongoryn Els. Excursion in the dunes, the height of some of those dunes reach 800 meters. In the evening, you will see the sunset in desert: a great show of surprising colors made from the sunset.
16 day	Visit to a herder family with camels, possibility to rent camels to ride. When you pass through Khavtsagait, you can see petroglyphs, then continue to Bayanzag – “flaming cliffs”, where the expedition of Roy Chapman Andrews in 1924 did the larger paleontological discoveries, finding an impressive quantity of discoveries among which the eggs, components and whole skeletons of dinosaurs of much unknown species until then.  Excursion in the land of the first owners of Land.
17 day	Departure to Saikhan Ovoo, a small village in the West of the province Dundgobi. Visit the ruins of Monastery of Ongiin. Excursion a long the river.
18 day	Departure from the Monastery Onghiin to the hot springs of Khujirt - a little bit before the  Ulaan Tsutgalan National Park.
19 day	Entrance to Ulaan Tsutgalan National Park and departure to  the waterfall of Orkhon river. The road takes you to the canyon of Orkhon river and pass through the springs of Uurtiin Tokhoi. The road is quite tough. Arrival and excursion to the waterfall of Ulaan Tsutgalan. Departure to the Monastery Tuvkhun on the top of the mountain. Excursion to the Monastery. In the evening, arrive to Kharkhorin - ancient capital of Mongolian Empire in XIII century.
20 day	Visit the Monastery-Museum of Erdene Zuu, built on the ruins of Kharkhorin. Departure to Ulaanbaatar. Arrival and accommodation in the hotel.
21 day	Visit of the Museum of Natural History, that besides the sections dedicated to the flora and to the fauna, presents paleontological discoveries and to the Museum of History.  Visit to the Museum-Monastery of Choijin Lama, where the original masks of the dance Tsam and splendid sculptures of Zanabazar are preserved.  Shopping.  Free time available for the trip in town.
